News, News, News!

Happy August 1st! Royal Autumn has had a busy summer so far, with a lot of planning for our next parable going on. Some other happenings include our fearless leader, Anthony T. Carter, teaching a class called Lights, Camera, Action, at the local JCC. It's divided into 2 two-week classes, one for older kids and one for younger kids. The older kids did a great job with writing, shooting, and directing their own film, and Anthony will be teaching the second class for younger grades at the end of August. Everyone is super excited to have a "real filmmaker" in the house!

As usual, Royal Autumn has many irons in the fire. We are in the process of writing our next parable, which will be titled, Green. This parable will follow in the same lines as RED, in the fact that the story is true and based on an anecdote our Pastor told in church. We hope to work with several new actors on this upcoming project, which as always, is super exciting. Hopefully, we will be able to shoot Green before the end of the year.

We're very excited to announce that Royal Autumn Entertainment is in the brainstorming and planning stages of our first feature film. We have a few ideas bouncing around and are currently determining the best story to write that will be impactful and achievable. We currently have a feature-length screenplay entitled "Tenderness" in the works:

The Story: A family's faith is tested when Cameron and Michelle deal with her recent dismissal from her job. Cameron takes the opportunity to embrace his calling as the spiritual leader of the home. Forced to finally make her family her top priority, Michelle wrestles with her ambitions, dreams and her faith, as she learns to accept her responsibility to her family.

We will keep you informed with the process of our current projects, here's to a productive rest of the summer!!

the RED shoot:

So our latest project was a short film (or parable) about two diner patrons who meet up during breakfast. It is based on an example our pastor gave during a sermon earlier this year - being the excellent producer that I am, I had to point out the potential this particular anecdote had to be turned into a short film.

The film was shot in one day - about 7 hours total, including set up and break down. Our location was James Brown's Place, locally located on Culver Road in Rochester. The owner was kind enough to provide the location and also cooked food for us to use in some of the scenes. Most of our cast consisted of actors we have never worked with before - they all proved to be hard workers and were so excited to be a part of our production. It's always great to work with cast and crew who share the same passion for film that we do!

As you may have noticed, we have a trailer put together for the film. We also have a roughly edited cut that is waiting for music at the moment...it should be completed by late summer or early fall at which time we will have some sort of screening - the location has yet to be decided.

A huge thanks goes out to everyone who contributed time, energy, and cookies to our shoot in May. Several people took time out of their day to come lend a hand and experience a film shoot firsthand. It was really great for Anthony and I to have so many family members and great friends surround us during this shoot and we appreciate all the time and energy everyone contributed!

RED: A Parable

RED
  1. Any of various colors resembling the color of blood; the primary color at one extreme end of the visible spectrum, an effect of light with a wavelength between 610 and 780 nm.
  2. A short film produced by Royal Autumn Entertainment (see below)
RED: A Parable is a short comedy-drama film written by American film director and screenwriter Anthony T. Carter. The inspiration of this parable stems from one of Pastor Tom Hauser's many experiences as a Pastor. The film will be the first of many faith based shorts that Carter will write and produce with Royal Autumn Entertainment (RAE).

RED tells the story of two diner patrons, Henry and Red (who's name gives the film its title) who encounter each during breakfast. Henry eats at the diner early every morning to avoid the crowds and have his own quiet time. But today, Red, a late morning diner, storms in early.

A Bit About Us...

Royal Autumn is constantly coming up with film ideas...granted, some of them are crazy, but others have real potential.  We typically create our films in Western NY - the Rochester area to be more precise - although we have many individuals with whom we collaborate across the United States and even Canada.

Although Royal Autumn has not been "official" for very long, our founder, Anthony T. Carter, has been creating films since his childhood.  His brain is constantly churning out possible ideas, but only a few can make it to screen.  Our collaborative artistic abilities are shown in the intricate and meaningful films that we create and produce - our hope is that the near future will bring us many more opportunities to create great films and to impact people all across the world.

Royal Autumn Entertainment currently consists of: Anthony T. Carter - our founder and head writer/director, Grace Ingram-Carter - the studio manager and producer, and Jay Walker - our business manager and also a producer.  We all work together on film ideas and use our connections to help make the filming process a bit easier.  We are always looking for investors, people with equipment who would like to collaborate with our company, locations that are friendly to film crews, actors/actresses, and even potential ideas to produce.

Our Mission: To produce drama onscreen and onstage that captivates and inspires audiences worldwide!
